Passports

US passport – first, renewal or urgent.

Three situations, three different processes with the Embassy. We check which one fits you, fill in the forms and make sure the passport arrives on time.

Which route fits you

First passport

For anyone who never had a US passport, for every passport for a child under 16, and when the previous one was lost, stolen or issued before 16.

  • In person at the Embassy
  • Fee: $165 adult, $135 child
  • Our service: ₪590

Renewal

For adults whose previous passport was issued after age 16, less than 15 years ago, and isn’t damaged. In most cases – no appointment, by courier.

  • No interview
  • Fee: $130
  • Our service: ₪450

Emergency passport

A flight coming up and no valid passport? There is an emergency track with the Embassy, with proof of travel.

  • Urgent Embassy appointment
  • Same fee as a regular passport
  • Our service: ₪650

What we do

  • Check which form is right – the wrong form is the most common reason for a second Embassy visit.
  • Fill in the forms and prepare an exact document list, including a photo that meets the requirements.
  • Book the appointment when needed, in Jerusalem or Tel Aviv, and prepare you for the visit.
  • Follow up until the passport is in your hands.

For a newborn? Better to take the baby package – CRBA, passport and Social Security number in one appointment.

Frequently asked questions

How long does it take to get a passport?

Usually a few weeks from application, depending on workload. If you have a flight coming up, tell us right away and we’ll check the emergency track.

My passport expired. Is that a renewal or a new passport?

A renewal – if the previous passport was issued after age 16 and less than 15 years ago. A passport that expired more than 5 years ago was issued more than 15 years ago, so you need to apply as for a first passport.

Can I fly to the US on my Israeli passport only?

A US citizen must enter and leave the US on a US passport. Entering on an Israeli passport with an ESTA isn’t possible for citizens.

My child’s passport expired. Is that a renewal?

For children under 16 – no. Every child passport is treated as a first passport, in person at the Embassy with both parents’ consent.

I have a US tax debt. Does that affect my passport?

Only for a very large debt that the IRS has certified as seriously delinquent. Most people aren’t there – and if you’re unsure, you can get your filings in order.
